Cardioprotective Effects of Lagenaria siceraria Fruit Juice on Isoproterenol-induced Myocardial Infarction in Wistar Rats: A Biochemical and Histoarchitecture Study.

摘要: The present study was designed to evaluate the cardioprotective effects of Lagenaria siceraria fruit juice in isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction. Rats injected with isoproterenol (200 mg/kg, s.c.) showed a significant increase levels serum uric acid, tissue Na ++ and Ca ions membrane-bound +2 -ATPase activity. A decrease protein, K + ion, vitamin E level, activities /K and mg observed. Isoproterenol rats also intensity lactate dehydrogenase isoenzyme histopathologic alterations heart. Treatment L . (400 mg/kg/day, p.o.) for 30 days administration on 29 th protective effect altered biochemical changes. These findings indicate L. infarction rats.
