摘要: Equine recurrent uveitis (ERU) is the most frequently encountered cause of eye problems and blindness in horses. Classic treatment ERU includes mydriatics, corticosteroids nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Despite vigorous topical systemic treatment, however, many cases, prognosis for preserving vision remains poor. Experiences with surgical chronic endogenous human patients have shown that vision-impairing axial opacities vitreous body can be removed by pars plana vitrectomy, a considerable decrease frequency severity uveitic relapses results. So far, 11 eyes 10 horses were subjected to vitrectomy. All had suffered from 3 or more attacks hazy vitreous. In all at discharge clinic, chamber was less compared preoperative findings. At follow-up examinations, 8 (8/10) normal i.o. pressure, 2 (2/10) subnormal pressure chambers clear contained only small floaters. Uveitic not been observed operated eyes. Postoperative complications included fibrinous, fibrinous-haemorrhagic exudate anterior eyes, one eye, minor haemorrhage chamber. Our preliminary results indicate vitrectomy assuring proper case selection accurate technique, may contribute improvement delay progression
