摘要: An accurate method for guiding injections into the canine hip would facilitate diagnostic localization of lameness and targeted treatments. Ultrasound-guided are commonly used in humans large animals. Aims this prospective study were to describe ultrasound (US) anatomy adult determine feasibility accuracy intra-articular placement injectate using US-guidance. Seven dogs US anatomy, five dog cadavers assess injection technique 11 injections. For test, 22 joints injected with iodinated contrast medium by three operators with different experience. With lateral recumbency, hyperechoic femoral head surface was identified following neck from greater trochanter or acetabular rim localized caudally ilium iliac wing. An anechoic gap between represented joint. The capsule visible as a triangular echoic structure articular cartilage appeared an band. needle inserted axial directed dorsolateral–ventromedial direction toward joint space then pushed through capsule. Based on postinjection radiography, 81.8% at first attempt 100% second attempt. This indicated that US-guided injection is feasible technique injecting hip. Future studies live needed safety efficacy.
