摘要: The development in our understanding of symmetry principles is reviewed. Many symmetries, such as charge conjugation, parity and strangeness, are no longer considered fundamental but natural consequences a gauge field theory strong electromagnetic interactions. Other symmetries arise naturally from physical models some limiting situation, for low energy or mass. Random dynamics attempts to explain all - even Lorentz invariance without appealing any the laws nature discussed. A selection original papers reprinted.
