摘要: Abstract Statement of problem In an effort to control postoperative sensitivity, dentin sealers are being applied following crown preparation with little knowledge how retention might be affected. A previous study demonstrated no adverse effect when using a glutaraldehyde-based sealer, and existing studies have shown conflicting results for resin-based products. Purpose This determined if resin sealer prepared affected cemented castings 3 common types luting agents. Material methods Extracted human molars (n=55) were flat occlusal, 20-degree taper, 4-mm axial length. The surface area each was specimens distributed equally among groups (n=11). 2-step, single-bottle adhesive system (One Step) used seal tooth preparation. Sealer not on the except modified-resin cement (Resinomer) that required use cementation. Using ceramometal high noble alloy (Olympia), casting produced specimen seating force 20 Kg either zinc phosphate (Fleck's), glass ionomer (Ketac-Cem) or adhesive. Castings thermal cycled at 5°C 55°C 2500 cycles; then removed along path insertion universal testing machine 0.5 mm/min. single-factor ANOVA α=.05. nature failure also recorded data analyzed chi-square test. Results Mean dislodgment stresses unsealed sealed conditions 3.7 ± 1.0 2.2 0.8 MPa phosphate; 2.7 1.2 4.2 0.9 ionomer, respectively ( P Conclusions Resin decreased retentive stress by 42% phosphate. However, resulted in 55% increased ionomer. highest mean stress, nearly always exceeding strength tooth.
