摘要: The Archipelago Sea in the northern Baltic has been subjected to large-scale cultural, economic and ecological changes, especially during last three decades. Environmental threats originate from both basin-wide sources, affecting whole Sea, local such as nutrient loading nearby river outflows, intense agriculture, fish farming, ships' traffic, boating, man's physical impacts on landscape seascape. Both Aland archipelago have listed hot-spots by HELCOM, Marine Environment Protection Commission, eutrophication being main threat aquatic environment. In this study we review how biological communities reacted an increase man-induced multisource stresses. Changes plankton, benthic animals, macroalgal assemblages documented most parts of since 1970s. What remains be understood is importance these structural changes for functioning ecosystem under various levels human impact.
