摘要: An antiserum raised against human milk fat globule membranes has been used to stain a wide variety of tissues by the indirect immunoperoxidase method. The antigen detected designated Epithelial Membrane Antigen and was confined luminal surface (and lesser extent cytoplasm) epithelial in normal state. Increased staining observed nonneoplastic disease states as well many neoplasms. tumors is related both their histogenesis degree differentiation, being found only lesions or mesothelial origin more consistently present moderately differentiated However, strong also anaplastic this together with resistance formol fixation paraffin embedding suggest that valuable role play diagnostic tumor histopathology an indicator differentiation. distinction carcinomas from malignant lymphomas recognition spindle-cell malignancies are especially useful applications. identification minute metastatic deposits carcinoma organs such liver bone marrow greatly facilitated. Malignant neoplasms often exhibit patterns different those tissues. possible significance these discussed.
