Research productivity in education and psychology in the Philippines and comparison with ASEAN countries

摘要: An objective assessment using bibliometric indicators of research productivity in education and psychology the Philippines was conducted. Results were then benchmarked against its Southeast Asian neighbors' same fields. showed that ranked low compared to Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, particularly starting 1990s. Only a few researchers, mainly coming from small number higher institutions, publishing papers on regular basis range journals. Those journals had either no or impact factors most citation counts. It also collaborated less with domestic international institutions. This explained terms economic indicators, local orientation many social science studies, funding, individual characteristics epistemic culture knowledge production country. However, reforms initiated by government, sector, would hopefully lead better landscape and, consequently, improved near future.
