摘要: The concept that vegetables and fruits are relevant sources of cancer-preventive substances is strongly supported by population studies. Among others, cruciferous like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower Brussels sprouts thought to affect the development various types cancers especially prostate tumors. Yet, identification molecular mechanisms which 'active' compounds contained in these mediate their anticancer activity has historically lagged behind. Accordingly, direct laboratory evidence how individual nutrients cancer genes pathways they control remains major obstacle progress this research field. Here we review a recent report investigating interaction between sulforaphane, dietary isothiocyanate derived from expression PTEN tumor suppressor gene pre malignant tissue.
