摘要: Lamotrigine is a new antiepileptic drug that may possess unique cognitive and behavioral characteristics. Although lamotrigine can produce neurobehavioral toxicity, it generally well tolerated. In one study directly comparing to placebo as add-on therapy in patients with intractable epilepsy, no objective effects were observed limited neuropsychological battery. Several studies have demonstrated favorable of on psychological well-being not explained by simple seizure frequency severity. direct comparisons carbamazepine phenytoin, has been reported positive quality life scales patient perception. addition, also two blinded several open trials for severe mental disability refractory epilepsy. Future more extensive assessments are needed delineate the differential epilepsy psychiatric disorders.
