摘要: Abstract The Estuary of Bahia Blanca (EBB), Argentina, is an important wetland under intense sewage pollution. We investigated the occurrence Clostridium perfringens (CP) in populations two benthic crabs (Neohelice granulata and Cyrtograpsus angulatus) sediment from EBB. CP was found 49.1% all isolates were identified as type A. alpha (cpa) enterotoxin (cpe) encoding genes identified. Genetic analyses 13 novel sequence types, no clustering among isolates, suggesting that not part crabs’ commensal flora. carriage 51 times more likely area nearest outfalls compared with a reference site. Our vitro experiments suggest transient. use these monitoring organisms pollution coastal habitats proposed.
