摘要: The ‘evidence for development’ community aims to produce research that is useful and used address issues of poverty inequality, largely in low- middle-income countries (often referred as the ‘global South’). unspoken norm, however, much engagement, funding attention focused on organizations individuals global North, with assumption they are effective supporting needs South. In this paper, I explore initiatives working within Africa, using lens African philosophy ubuntu. present findings from a programme work undertaken across Africa identify better understand innovation evidence-informed decision-making taking place continent. demonstrate that, while resource-poor not well publicized, evidence world leading number respects. These include interconnections its continent-wide network, engagement some governments ecosystem. Reflecting these findings, discuss critique underlying foundations patriarchy, development coloniality shape field development’. highlight how, an era decoloniality, post-‘development’ antipatriarchy, risks becoming outdated being ineffective if it does engage challenges inherent concepts. argue alternative ubuntu enables us celebrate successes Southern communities, together level footing North tackle inequality through use evidence.
