摘要: Heterologous expression and characterisation of the membrane proteins higher eukaryotes is paramount interest in fundamental applied research. Due to rather simple well-established methods for their genetic modification cultivation, yeast cells are attractive host systems recombinant protein production. This review provides an overview on remarkable progress, discusses pitfalls, applying various strains high-level eukaryotic proteins. In contrast cell lines eukaryotes, yeasts permit efficient library screening methods. Modified used as high-throughput tools heterologous functions or benchmark analysing drug–target relationships, e.g., by using sensors. Furthermore, powerful hosts revealing interactions stabilising and/or activating We also discuss stress responses upon Through co-expression chaperones optimising cultivation strategies, yield-optimised have been created crystallography whole-cell production fine chemicals.
