摘要: Nosocomial pneumonia is still a common problem, especially in intubated and mechanically ventilated patients. The endotracheal tube contributes substantially to the pathogenesis of these patients, because it facilitates microaspiration impairs host defenses. Common nosocomial pathogens like Pseudomonas aeruginosa are known produce exopolysaccha-ride generate complex biofilm structure, which allows adhesion abiotic surfaces protection from antibiotic action. Multiple studies have identified bacterial on inner lumen tubes, represent permanent source infectious material. Endotracheal removed patients with ventilator-associated covered more frequently than those uninfected controls but remains unclear whether this represents infection or secondary contamination.
