摘要: ✓ A review of 51 cases referred for evaluation fetal ventriculomegaly revealed adequate follow-up data in 40 patients. Three the fetuses were electively aborted and 37 delivered. There no death utero. Of infants who delivered, 26 (70%) treated with shunt placement neonatal hydrocephalus. The reasons nontreatment included: inaccurate diagnosis, resolution hydrocephalus by time delivery, death, parental wishes. Survival shunt-treated patients ranged from 5 days to 14 years (average 4.25 years); five these died within first 2 weeks life. Among patients, satisfactory cognitive ability was found 10 (38%). seven surviving nontreated infants, demonstrated six (86%). Children myelomeningocele displayed development similar that without myelomeningocele. findings suggest that, utero diagnosis...
