摘要: Third molars of extant- and fossil Southeast Asian deer were metrically compared using a linear- geometric morphometric approach discussed in relation to known taxonomic information from the literature. Our analysis suggests presence medium sized genus Axis large taxa Cervus s. l. Java. lydekkeri javanicus are considered valid taxa, with A. probably related subgenus Hyelaphus. The deer, such as kendengensis, stehlini problematicus most likely Rusa, former two closely extant timorensis. Sumatran fossils members but not necessarily conspecific (Rusa) unicolor.
