摘要: (abridged) We present a catalog of 2357 point sources detected during 590 ks Chandra observations the 17-by-17 arcminute field around Sgr A*. This encompasses physical area 40 by pc at distance 8 kpc. The completeness limit sample Galactic center is 10^{31} erg s^{-1} (2.0--8.0 keV), while detection an order magnitude lower. 281 below 1.5 keV are mainly in foreground center, comparisons to deep fields high latitudes suggest that only about 100 observed background AGN. surface density absorbed (not keV) falls off as 1/theta away from A*, agreement with distribution stars infrared surveys. Point brighter than our produce 10% flux previously attributed diffuse emission. log(N)-log(S) extremely steep (power-law slope alpha = 1.7). If this extends down 10^{-17} cm^{-1} (10^{29} kpc, 2.0--8.0 same slope, then would account for all reported Therefore, luminosity must flatten between 10^{29} - s^{-1}. Finally, spectra more half very hard, and can be described power law ($E^{-Gamma}) photon index Gamma < 1. Such hard have been seen magnetically accreting white dwarfs wind-accreting neutron stars, suggesting there large numbers these systems field.
