摘要: This paper summarises recent progress in the physics basis and its impact on expected performance of ITER. Significant has been made many outstanding issues development hybrid steady state operation scenarios, leading to increased confidence achieving ITER’s goals. Experiments show that tailoring current profile can improve confinement over standard H-mode allow an increase beta up no-wall limit at safety factors ~ 4. Extrapolation ITER suggests reduced plasma 12MA, high Q > 10 long pulse (>1000 s) is possible with benign ELMs. Analysis disruption scenarios performed based guidelines quench rates halo currents, derived from experimental database. The estimated electromagnetic forces in-vessel components are below design target values, confirming robustness against
