摘要: Significant disparities have been detected and documented over time among different racial/ethnic groups, in particular between Black White men, oropharyngeal cancer (OPSCC) incidence mortality rates. Both rates improved men recent year, a concomitant increase of OPSCC Whites contributes to closing the gap, for what is concerned. However, remain much higher than Whites. The reasons this lingering disparity are many complex. Among all sites head neck (HNC) oropharynx most likely harbor cancers driven by high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV): up 60 % (up 25 cancers) due HPV, often HPV16. HPV-positive respond better treatment prognosis HPV-negative ones that mostly tobacco alcohol consumption. less OPSCC, could contribute cancer. also deeply rooted inequalities treatment, access care, social factors can be addressed corrected.
