摘要: The New York State black bear (Ursus americanus) population/ approximately 4/000 animals (Clarke 1977)/ causes damage to apiaries in the Catskill/ Adirondack/ and Southern Tier regions of state. During 1987/ 1988/ 1989, USDA Animal Damage Control (ADC) administered a program control apiaries. activities were carried out pursuant Cooperative Agreement between ADC Department Agriculture Markets/ supported by matching FederalState contributions. Program objectives beekeeper education aimed at preventing for construction demonstration temporary electric fences. an 8-wire/ low-tension fence 12.5 gauge wire used conjunction with high-voltage/ lowimpedence Zealand energizer was constructed around apiary Clinton County.
