摘要: Apneic events in the obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) are associated with cardiovascular responses mediated through autonomic nervous system. We examined 33 patients (median age = 50 years, range 20-72 years) undergoing polysomnography for suspected OSAS. these evening and at arousal morning. Tests consisted of heart rate to Valsalva maneuver, deep breathing change from lying down standing. In addition, systolic blood pressure (BP) response standing diastolic BP handgrip were studied. Each abnormal test scored +1 each marginal result +0.5. Autonomic system (ANS) results as if a subject had score > 1 which included least one test. The total scores morning tests combined showed 11/24 sets 12 severe OSAS [median RDI (apnea+hypopnea per hour slept) 44 (range 31-74)] compared 3/22 non-OSAS (p 0.04). breathing, expressed an expiratory inspiratory ratio (E/I), was most often found abnormal. A significant difference between normal stress (AST) groups observed regards cumulative time spent under 90% SaO2 minimal SaO2. conclude that common probably secondary defect.
