摘要: Objectives To examine the relationship between loneliness and cognitive function to explore mediating role of physical health on loneliness-cognition in Chinese older adults (OAs). Method Data came from a nationally representative sample 14,199 OAs (aged 65+) 2002, 2005, 2008, 2011 waves Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey. A latent variable cross-lagged panel model combined with mediation analysis was used determine effect increase number chronic conditions (ΔNCCs) ascertained relationship. Results Severe at prior assessment points significantly associated poorer subsequent assessments, vice versa. The ΔNCCs partially mediated this prospective reciprocal relationships, accounting for 2.58% total cognition 4.44% loneliness, respectively. Discussion Loneliness may predict decline, This is explained by their impact health. Multidisciplinary interventions aimed reducing decline per se risk factors as well improving illness management would be beneficial emotional well-being OAs.
