摘要: Plasma contains three forms of cyst(e)ine: cysteine, cystine, and protein-bound cysteine. The former is a thiol the latter two are disulfides. levels all types cyst(e)ine, as well cysteinyl tripeptide glutathione, were measured in plasma 14 normal 10 cirrhotic individuals. All subjects ate mixed foods. Some patients studied during nasogastric hyperalimentation with Vivonex (Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals, Norwich, N.Y.) total parenteral nutrition FreAmine III (American McGaw, Irvine, Calif.); neither formula cyst(e)ine. Regardless nature diet, had significantly subnormal values for albumin. In addition, following significant changes found to be diet-dependent: (a) elevated methionine Vivonex, (b) taurine foods nutrition, (c) depressed cysteine (d) cyst(e)ine thiol/disulfide ratio foods, (e) nutrition. data indicate multiple abnormalities sulfur metabolism cirrhosis.
