摘要: Although considered rare, airborne pollen can be deposited far from its place of origin under a confluence favorable conditions. Temporally anomalous records Cupressacean collected January air samples in London, Ontario, Canada have been cited as new case long-distance transport. Data on pollination season implicated Juniperus ashei (mountain cedar), with populations central Texas and south Oklahoma, the nearest source Canadian samples. This finding is special significance given allergenicity mountain cedar pollen. While microscopy used extensively to identify particles spora, all members Cupressaceae, including Juniperus, are morphologically indistinguishable. Consequently, we implemented molecular approach characterize using PCR order test transport hypothesis. Our results species-specific primers confirmed that was J. ashei. Forward trajectory analysis areas Arbuckle Mountains Oklahoma backward destination area near Ontario were completed models HYSPLIT4 (Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory). Results these analyses strongly supported conclusion detected had origins or Oklahoma. The findings significant they provide method confirm bears allergenic importance.
