摘要: The development of the theory interaction electromagnetic radiation with atoms and molecules is outlined. A fully classical analysis absorption emission formulated in which particular attention paid to questions detailed balance sum rules obeyed by susceptibility. Collision broadening introduced through time-dependent dipole moment correlation functions, brief discussions interruption various frequency modulation models are given. corresponding quantum mechanical presented emphasis on points common approach. importance correspondence principles bridging gap between theories stressed.
