摘要: Abstract α-cyclocostunolide (IV), a product of transannular crystaliaton costunolide, gives, on treatment with methanol in presence alkali, (1) α-cyclo-12-methoxydihydrocostunoide (VII) and (2) the corresponding hydroxy acid (VIII). On ammonia, is converted to amide (IX), saponification which ields VIII. The (VIII) catalytic hydrogenation gives saturated (X) lactonizes santanolide ‘c’ acid.
