摘要: Abstract Background Metastasis of unknown origin (MUO) is a diagnostic challenge in clinical practice even with the state current advanced technology. To evaluate value autopsy determining primary site MUO, this study reviewed Hamilton experience—over last 20 years—with patients autopsied diagnosis MUO. Methods All diagnoses from cases performed at Health Sciences Center and St Joseph's Healthcare 1980 to 2000 were reviewed. Fifty-three MUO identified (MUO was defined as patient pathological and/or radiological metastatic tumor for which malignancy unknown).
