摘要: Ischemic stroke, caused by obstruction of blood flow to the brain, would initiate microglia activation which contributes neuronal damage. Therefore, inhibition microglia-mediated neuroinflammation could be a therapeutic strategy for ischemic stroke. This study was aimed elucidate anti-inflammatory effects alpha-lipoic acid and etanercept given either singly or in combination rats subjected middle cerebral artery occlusion. Both α-lipoic markedly reduced infarct, blood-brain barrier disruption, neurological motor deficits with former drug being more effective dosage used. Furthermore, when used combination, reduction substantial. Remarkably, greater diminution serum levels tumor necrosis factor-alpha as well brain microglial (e.g., microgliosis, amoeboid microglia, overexpression factor-α) observed combined treatment compared drugs separately. We conclude that peripheral downregulation protect rat against Moreover, both were stroke recovery promoted extensively.
