What makes corporate wikis work? wiki affordances and their suitability for corporate knowledge work

摘要: Wikis were originally intended for knowledge work in the open Internet environment, and there seems to be an inherent tension between wikis' affordances nature organizations. The objective of this paper is investigate how tailoring wikis corporate settings would impact users' wiki activity. We begin by synthesizing prior works on design principles; identifying several areas where we anticipate high organizational practices. put forward five propositions regarding changes deployment procedures may An empirical study one multi-national organization tested perceptions towards these propositions, revealing that some cases a need modifying wiki's design, while other corporations wish change their practices align with affordances.
