摘要: Abstract Neurotrophin 3 (NT-3) promotes the survival and induces neurite outgrowth from a subset of neural crest (NC) placode-derived neurons. We now report that this growth factor regulates proliferation cultured NC progenitor cells grown in serum-free defined medium. In cultures somites containing at migratory stages, NT-3 2- to 8.4-fold increase number incorporating [3H]thymidine into nuclei 1.8- 4.8-fold cell compared controls without added factor. also promoted, lesser extent, homogeneous established clusters. addition its effect on cells, was mitogenic somite mixed NC/somite cultures. These data demonstrate can act directly cells. They indicate response may be modulated by presence somitic suggest one central nervous system-derived factors mediate vivo.
