摘要: We report the first case of tinea pedis and onychomycosis caused by Hendersonula toruloidea in United States and, to our knowledge, third such reported North America. The clinical picture is one chronic, hyperkeratotic, recalcitrant similar that Trichophyton rubrum . Except for 2 years Alaska, 46-year-old patient had never lived outside state Louisiana. Previous treatment with griseofulvin 1 % bifonazole cream 4 weeks were both ineffective. did not respond further a variety topical antifungal preparations. This fungus endemic tropical subtropical regions; suggests it may be southern part as well. Dermatologists should alerted this overlooked disease entity.
