摘要: Despite decades of debate in urban research about the effect built form on household energy use, empirical topic is still far from conclusive. Many studies rely small samples and fail to control for crucial variables such as income. This article describes a detailed analysis use Sydney that controls major demographic income variables. The results demonstrate appliance ownership, size, dwelling size type all affect consumption. Importantly, planning perspective, low-rise attached dwellings, after controlling other factors, estimated 15–20 per cent lower than detached dwellings with same number bedrooms.
