摘要: Abstract : Information on the biological fate of cellulosic material in ocean and cellulolytic abilities oceanic bacteria is important for predicting waste paper particles released from ships time required complete decomposition. Measures bacterial respiration were used to estimate rates kinetics cellulose particle degradation by marine bacterioplankton over a range environmental conditions typical selected locations depths ocean. Decomposition slurries followed first order kinetics, with decay constants ranging -0.004 d-1 at 280C -0.0004-' 40C (half lives 173 1733 days). Q,0 values decomposition averaged 1.85 temperatures between 80C 280C. Inorganic nutrient concentrations less than temperature determining degradation. also not affected size classes from> 2 mm 150 um. Oceanic - communities found degrade approximately 10-fold lower coastal seawater, possibly reflecting differences abundance natural substrates two environments.
