摘要: This review aims to summarise some of the recent studies that have been undertaken on parasites genus Echinococcus and diseases which they cause. Although adult parasite, inhabits intestine various carnivore species is not pathogenic, larval or metacestode stages can be highly causing economic losses livestock forms echinococcosis in humans, a high fatality rate. There growing evidence there are at least 5 rather than generally accepted 4 species. Within these number genotypes strains. implications for surveillance control. In wealthy countries, cystic caused by granulosus has successfully controlled indeed eradicated. However, most parts world it remains serious threat human health. former Soviet Union, disease rapidly increased incidence after end communist administration. Human alveolar echinococcosis, multilocularis, more sporadic. Chinese communities disturbingly prevalence Europe an increase detection rate E. multilocularis animals last 10 years. Echinococcosis present diagnostic challenges, particularly definitive host areas low endemicity. Much work relating use coproantigen PCR overcome difficulties summarized. New ideas controlling parasite becoming available include both vaccination application mathematical models determine cost effective means Effective measures affordable vital if poor countries.
