摘要: In the past decade, literature on transitions toward sustainable socio-technical systems has made a considerable contribution in understanding complex and multi-dimensional shifts considered necessary to adapt societies economies modes of production consumption. However, transition analyses have often neglected where take place, spatial configurations dynamics networks within which evolve. A more explicit perspective sustainability contributes extant three ways. Firstly it provides contextualization limited territorial sensitivity existing literature. Secondly, explicitly acknowledges investigates diversity processes, follows from ‘natural’ variety institutional conditions, networks, actor strategies resources across space. Thirdly, encompasses not only greater emphasis but also an opportunity connect body geared international, trans-local nature dynamics. Concerned with prevalent lack attention for dimensions most studies, this paper seeks unpick make geographies vantage point economic geography. The argues that there are two interrelated problems requiring attention: embeddedness development processes specific spaces, multi-scalar conception trajectories. Following these arguments, concludes research would do well closer look at geographical unevenness global local nodes.
