Cancer Incidence and Mortality in Ardabil: Report of an Ongoing Population-Based Cancer Registry in Iran, 2004-2006

摘要: Background: Ardabil cancer registry is the first population-based in Iran that was established 2000. The report from this revealed has one of highest rate gastric cardia and lowest cervical world. We aim to update incidence area by second follow up registry. Method: Data on all newly diagnosed cases between 2004 2006 were actively collected. CanReg4 software used for data entry cancer-related death obtained comprehensive system. Results: More than 4300 new registered during 3 years. Diagnosis based histopathology 69%, clinical investigation 8%, only 5%, Death Certificate Only (DCO) 18% cases. In terms age-standardized (/100,000), five leading cancers men (excluding skin cancer) stomach (51.8), esophagus (19.5), bladder (13.1), lung bronchus (10.8), colorectal (9.6); women, they (24.9), (19.7), breast (11.9), colon rectum (7.4), brain tumors (6.9). According registration data, upper gastrointestinal constituted more 43% Ardabil.
