摘要: A method and system for storing accessing firmware that is distributed across both local remote storage devices. This capability facilitated by a standard software abstraction device, known as Firmware Volume (FV), which enables platform to be stored in variety of types devices, including devices may access via network. Under this architecture, code written manner such only the early memory initiation necessary produce or an FV exists ROM. All other components, device initialization OS bootstrap code, located remotely. As result, system's BIOS, updated simply updating portion volume.
