摘要: We examine mathematical properties of the CIEDE2000 color difference formula and illustrate that is not a continuous function CIELAB pairs between which calculated. Particularly, we ambiguities in computation mean hue angle differences contribute to discontinuity for chosen 180-degrees apart hue. analyze characterize give visual presentation allows better appreciation its nature. For under 5 delta E units apart, maximum magnitude bounded by 0.274. further CIELAB, rises sharply. The results indicate care should be exercised using Taylor series approximations use restricted small as recommended standard.
