摘要: Abstract This study reports the adaptation of a simple and mechanistic crop growth model for faba bean (FAGS) to growing conditions in Mediterranean region. The FAGS was originally developed small-seeded cultivars grown temperate zone under non-limiting water nutrient conditions. In order account effect drought stress on growth, submodel simulation soil balance has been included model. enhanced calibrated using data from field experiments with large-seeded genotype (ILB 1814) conducted 1993–1994 1994–1995 at ICARDA's Tel Hadya research station northern Syria. both seasons, crops were sown two dates different supply levels. capable predicting phenology, leaf area development, biomass production, grain yield as well extraction daily climatic data, genotype-specific parameters, physical properties. tested against independent experimental 1991–1992 1992–1993 seasons able satisfactorily predict intensities. Limitations aspects requiring better understanding improve predictions are discussed.
