EFFECT OF A SINGLE INJECTION OF HUMAN PITUITARY FOLLICLE-STIMULATING HORMONE ON URINARY ESTROGENS AND THE VAGINAL SMEAR IN AMEN-ORRHEIC WOMEN

摘要: The effect of a single injection human pituitary follicle-stimulating hormone (HPFSH) with or without the subsequent administration repeated doses chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) was studied in 5 amenorrheic women. Administration dose HPFSH resulted each case significant increase urinary estrogen excretion. When HCG administered forty-eight hours following HPFSH, there an additional pronounced rise excretion and concomitant prcgnanediol No such occurred when interval between administrations exceeded ninety-six hours. A study vaginal smear indicated that identical regressive changes both secretion decreased it unchanged even increased but accompanied by progesterone production.
