摘要: The global epidemic of diabetes has extended to the developing countries including Sub-Sahara Africa. In this context, blacks with type 2 in African Diaspora continue manifest 1.5-2 times higher prevalent rates than their white counterparts. Previous studies have demonstrated that and without alterations hepatic peripheral insulin sensitivity, beta-cell function, clearance as well glucose dysregulation when compared whites. addition, non-diabetic multiple metabolic mediators predict its subtypes. These pathogenic modifiers include differences subclinical inflammation, oxidative stress burden, adipocytokines prior clinical diagnosis. Consequently, subtypes diabetes, ketosis-prone J diabetes. Given diversity Diaspora, we hypothesize early defects diagnosis strong genetic component, which appears play pivotal primary role pathogenesis Diaspora. However, environmental factors must also be considered major contributors prevalence should targets for prevention
