摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter examines calcium absorption and the vitamin D-dependent calcium-binding protein (CaBP). The investigations on physiology of CaBP indicated that there is nearly a 1:1 correspondence between concentration intestinal capacity intestine to absorb calcium. These correlations strongly indicate has significant role in translocation process. Calcium-binding calf kidney was found exclusively cortex. Quantitative measurements single animal cortex about one-sixth duodenum when expressed basis total protein. Studies have shown diphenylhydantoin phenobarbital, drugs used for anticonvulsant therapy epileptics, are associated with production bone lesions such patients if inadequate levels D provided. A unique system study absorptive mechanism been developed utilizing embryonic chick maintained organ culture.
