摘要: Transcrystallization of semicrystalline polymers, such as PEEK, PEKK and PPS, in high performance composites has been investigated. It is found that PPDT aramid fiber pitch-based carbon induce a transcrystalline interphase all three whereas PAN-based glass systems, transcrystallization occurs only under specific circumstances. Epitaxy used to explain the surface-induced first case. In latter case, probably not due epitaxy, but may be attributed thermal conductivity mismatch. Plasma treatment on surface showed negligible effect inducing transcrystallization, implying surface-free energy was important. A microdebonding test adopted evaluate interfacial strength between matrix. Our preliminary results did reveal any fiber/matrix transcrystallinity.
