摘要: This volume examines the roots and early development of modern hatha (postural) yoga. The author concentrates on transition from classical conception yoga as a philosophical system to version we recognize today. He argues that popularly practiced today owes greater debt Indian nationalism and, even more surprisingly, spiritual aspirations European bodybuilding 20th-century women's gymnastics movements Europe America, than it does any ancient tradition.
