Prognostics health management: perspectives in engineering systems reliability prognostics

摘要: The Prognostic Health Management (PHM) has been asserting itself as the most promising methodology to enhance effective reliability and availability of a product or system during its life-cycle conditions by detecting current approaching failures, thus, providing mitigation risks with reduced logistics support costs. However, PHM is at an early stage development, it also expresses some concerns about possible shortcomings methods, tools, metrics standardization. These factors have severely restricting applicability adoption industry. This paper presents comprehensive literature review main general weaknesses. Exploring research opportunities present in recent publications, are discussed outlined guidelines for finding answer these issues.
