摘要: Termites are considered to be urban pests in Japan, which has a long history of combating the two most economically important subterranean termites [Reticulitermes speratus (Kolbe) and Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki], since Japanese houses made principally wood. Approximately half new homes still being built using woodframe construction. Apart from treatment soil lumber with more environmentally benign termiticides, information on ecology termites, coupled experience, may helpful for development termite management technology. Recent experimental studies by scientists have produced some interesting evidence: (1) population size R. is much larger than previous estimates, (2) intestinal protozoa play specific roles supply nutrition C. formosanus, (3) cellulase excreted themselves participates wood decomposition, (4) colony recognition mediated bacteria fusion occur speratus, (5) symbiotic sclerotium-forming fungus helps protect eggs natural enemies, (6) differ regard their requirements water, (7) baiting system useful controlling infestations both (8) show higher penetrating activity rich available phosphate, organic matter humic substances, (9) timber that categorized as durable (resistant against termites), not if it was grown plantation. These findings linked an integrated (ITM) approach. For example, protozoicides bactericides could induced ingest them deliver nestmates through grooming trophallaxis. A bating can contribute reduced use chemicals when used consistent characteristic foraging dynamics target species, results less environmental impact. This review describes possibility approaches prevention control emphasis situation Japan.
