摘要: This chapter discusses the ion-exchange properties of zeolites. The cation-exchange traditional aluminosilicate zeolites arise from isomorphous positioning aluminum in tetrahedral coordination within their Si/Al frameworks. imposes a net negative charge on framework (Si 4+ Al 3+ ) counterbalanced by cations held cavities and channels. creates facile cation exchange lubricated water molecules present voids framework. certainly is so for with open frameworks but some narrow-pored frameworks—such as natrolite—cation replacement slow difficult. provides an insight into theory it relates to individual common synthetic natural species, including industrial significance. Natural have advantages being cheap resource (especially when local deposits can be used) most mined materials are available robust crystal aggregates that processed sizes appropriate column use.
