摘要: Background Detection of a cardiac injury in stable patient after penetrating chest can be difficult. Ultrasound the pericardial sac may associated with false negative result presence hemothorax. A filling left heart border inferior to pulmonary artery, called straight (SLHB), is radiological sign on X-ray that we have found finding hemopericardium at surgery. The aim present study was determine if this reliable and reproducible sign. Methods This prospective patients admitted between 1 October 2001 28 February 2009, who had no indication for immediate surgery, were taken operating room creation subxiphoid window (SPW). reviewed by single trauma surgeon prior Results total 162 possible occult underwent SPW. Fifty-five (34 %) noted SLHB confirmed sensitivity 40 %; specificity, 84 positive predictive value, 89 %. (p = 0.005, Odds ratio 3.48, lower 1.41, upper 8.62). Conclusions newly described highly significant predicting should alert clinician injury.
