摘要: The present study examined whether children with elevated attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms display a unique pattern of emotion dysregulation as indexed by both parent report and physiological reactivity during experiences failure. A sample 61 (9 to 13 years; M = 11.62, SD 1.29; 48 % male) without clinical elevations in ADHD participated. Parent teacher oppositional defiant (ODD) internalizing problems were collected. Parents also provided ratings children’s emotional negativity/lability regulation. Children’s reactivity, based on changes respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) skin conductance level (SCL), assessed while they completed manipulated social rejection task impossible puzzle task. Regression analyses indicated that associated higher parent-rated blunted RSA withdrawal response rejection; these effects not accounted for co-occurring ODD or problems. uniquely poor Internalizing negativity/lability, regulation, increased SCL activity rejection. Results suggest there may be is specific symptomatology. importance contextual factors when examining stress youth discussed.
