摘要: Abstract Objective: To investigate associations between lead exposure and early motor development. Study design: We conducted standardized assessments of function (Bruininks-Oseretsky Test Motor Proficiency Beery Developmental Visual-Motor Integration) at age 54 months in 283 children whose mothers were recruited pregnancy from a smelter town non-lead-exposed Yugoslavia who have been monitored twice yearly since birth. Blood concentration (BPb) was summarized measure reflecting the average child's semiannual serial log BPbs through months. Results: Multiple regression showed that taken together, anthropometric measures (birth weight, body mass index) markers stimulating organized home life (HOME scale, parental education intelligence, availability siblings) explained significant 10% to 18% variance functioning. Beyond these contributions, BPb significantly associated with poorer fine visual but unrelated gross coordination. Conclusions: Modest functioning appear even after statistical adjustment is done for other contributors Associations are specific areas skill; development unaffected. (J Pediatr 2000;137:555-61)
